Agents
An AI agent is a software-based system designed to perform a specific task or set of actions within an enterprise environment. It operates with defined goals and typically follows predictable logic, using models like LLMs or SLMs to process information, make decisions, and, in some cases, take actions on behalf of users or systems.
Agents are narrower in scope than fully autonomous systems—they do not reprioritize goals or self-direct across domains. Instead, they execute assigned functions such as opening support tickets, summarizing data, or triggering predefined workflows.
In AI governance, each agent must be treated as a governed use case. ModelOp enables enterprises to onboard, monitor, and control agents throughout their lifecycle, ensuring that each agent operates securely, ethically, and in compliance with enterprise policies and risk thresholds.
