Generative AI

Generative AI refers to artificial intelligence systems that use machine learning models—such as large language models (LLMs)—to create new content including text, images, audio, code, and video. These systems learn patterns from large datasets and use that understanding to generate original outputs that mimic human-like creativity.

Unlike traditional AI, which focuses on analyzing data and making decisions based on predefined rules or statistical inference, Generative AI produces novel content by predicting what comes next in a sequence or context. Common applications include chatbots, coding assistants, content generation tools, and knowledge copilots.

While Generative AI offers major opportunities for enterprise innovation, it also introduces new risks such as:

  • Data privacy and IP leakage
  • Bias and discrimination
  • Generation of misinformation
  • Cost overruns
  • Regulatory non-compliance
