Job Description

We are looking for someone who enjoys using their analytical mind to solve complex problems, who works well in teams and can communicate effectively and is passionate about finding solutions in a fast-paced environment.

As a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer, you will work closely with other QA team members in designing and developing automated tests to ensure all new code is functioning properly and the system requirements have been successfully implemented.
Utilize tools or develop custom scripts for automating tests involving both back-end processing systems and front-end Web-based GUIs. Define, document, and execute detailed test plans to exercise system functionality. Use technical skills to troubleshoot user interface, application, or backend systems/database issues. Participate in project review meetings, providing testing metrics/status and notifying team of critical failures. Use bug tracking software to track and report issues.

Responsibilities

  • Build and execute automation solutions that are highly reliable, resilient, and extendable
  • Participate in test design discussions with the broader team, playing an influential role in testing decisions
  • Debug and triage failures, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Analyze test results and reported issues to make recommendations for improving product quality
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners and other QA team members on automated test plans and strategy.
  • Provide manual application and data testing support as needed
  • Log, track, and verify defects using provided defect tracking tools

Qualifications

  • A degree in computer science (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience testing web applications and/or services.
  • Experience creating test plans and building end-to-end test suites
  • Experience with test technologies for modern web applications (e.g., Cypress, Selenium, Protractor)
  • Experience with Python, JavaScript, or other scripting languages
  • Experience with defect tracking tools, such as JIRA
  • Experience with testing tools like Postman, Selenium, JMeter and other automation tools
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins – preferred but not required
  • Comfortable working in a fast passed, start up, SaaS environment
